Obituary

Mr. Albert Eugene “Gene” Beck, age 81, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (March 31, 2020) in a Roanoke, Virginia hospital. Born November 26, 1938 in Milford, Delaware, he was a son of the late Albert Charles and Irene Lyons Beck. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1962 and proudly served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired from General Motors after thirty years of service and he was a member of the UAW. After his retirement he was able to spend twenty-five years “doing nothing”, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Macie Keen Beck of the home; one son, Doug Beck and wife, Fely of Toano, Virginia; three grandchildren, Ellexis Beck, Gabriel Beck, and Aksel Beck; two great-grandchildren, Arianna and Jaidenn; friend, Lola Dimaano.
Due to the regulations and restrictions by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the CDC, services will be private. A public Celebration of Life service will be conducted at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Doug Beck, Gabriel Beck, Aksel Beck, Harlis Keen, Jake Thomas and Jeremy Cook.
