Obituary for Allen Fuller Yates

Mr. Allen Fuller Yates, age 63, of the Corner section of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Sunday (March 20, 2022) at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Born December 9, 1958 in Lebanon, Virginia, he was a son of the late Arlie Lewis and Peggy Ann Breeding Yates. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a member of Miller View Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church services. He had formerly been employed as a welder with Joy Manufacturing and S & S Manufacturing. He loved spending time with his family and working on the farm.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Patricia Helbert Yates; one daughter, Kayla Yates; one grandson, Dalton Fields; one brother, Ricky Lewis Yates and wife, Debbie; his “other” daughter, Ashley Duty; special niece and “daughter”, Adrienne Shular and husband, Bryce and children, Noah and Hadley Hale; special nephew, Nathan Yates and wife, Chloe and son, Silas Yates; additional nieces and nephews, Danielle Kelly, Hunter Kelly, Damian Helbert, Jeffery Helbert, D.J. Crawford, and April Crawford; several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at Miller View Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Garnell Gilbert, Elder Noah Kim Edwards, and Elder Don Stacy officiating. Interment will follow in the Yates Cemetery near the home.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Yates, Ernie Keene, Dave Cheeks, Darryl Yates, Russell Duty, and Kaiser Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Yates, David Truitt, Bryce Shular, Dalton Fields, Noah Hale, and Larry Miller.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Elder Jimmy Duty and Elder Jimmy Counts officiating.
