Amber Dawn Compton, age 35, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Saturday (October 22, 2022) at her home. Born February 23, 1987 in Russell County, Virginia, she spent her early life in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area before moving to the southwest Virginia area fifteen years ago. She had earned her Associates Degree in Nursing at Southwest Virginia Community College and was currently employed by the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Registered Nurse.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Douglas Lane and paternal grandparents, Maven and Zora Compton.
Survivors include three children, Madeline Aubrey Dales, Lydia Shay Dales, and Claire Elise Dales; her mother, Rachel Compton; her father, Larry Compton; two brothers, Mckinley Compton and Larry Paul Compton; maternal grandmother, Betty Lane; the father of her children, James Dales; many friends, cousins, and co-workers also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Stevie Hess officiating. Interment will follow in the Clark Cemetery in Honaker, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
