My Mom, Arbutis Dye Richardson, age 93, of Crestline, Ohio, took her heavenly flight on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Shelby, Ohio. She was welcomed in Heaven by her husband, Don Richardson and daughter, Donna Denise Richardson. Born September 25, 1927 in Drill, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Philmore and Susie Wilson Dye. In addition to her parents, husband, and daughter, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mamie Bostic, Lithie Hess, Arlene Compton, and Stella Shell, and two brothers, Rev. Edward Dye and Ewell Dye. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include one daughter, Becky and her much loved son-in-law, Sam Whited; four special granddaughters, Ginger and Tim Hale, Penny and Greg Farmer, Jessica and Rick Stevens, and Jamie and Robert Campbell; ten great-grandchildren, Matthew Hale, Adam Hale, Emilee Hale, Samantha and Andrew Giordani, Brett and Emily Farmer, Mitchell Campbell, Natalie Campbell, and Valeigh Stevens; four great-great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Selah, Scarlett, and Reid.
Due to Covid 19, a private graveside service will be conducted at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia with Rev. Rick Blevins officiating.
