Obituary for Barbara Meadows

Barbara Meadows, age 64, of Honaker, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning (January 25, 2022) at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born March 9, 1957 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Alfred “June” and Dorothy Evelyn Honaker Meadows. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1975 graduate of Honaker High School. She was a devoted Christian and had been a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church in Honaker, Virginia since she was twelve years old. She had been employed by Holston Medical Group at C-Health of Honaker. She enjoyed spending time with her cat, Smoky, doing crafts and decorating, but nothing gave her greater joy than going to church and serving the Lord.
Survivors include three siblings, Wilma Pruner and husband, Bill of Lebanon, Virginia and Sylvia Woodward and Kirby Meadows and wife, Wanda all of Honaker, Virginia; special nephew and nieces, Brad Compton and wife, Robin of Honaker, Virginia, Amy Compton and Sammi Pruner both of Lebanon, Virginia; special great-niece, Tessa Presley and husband, Ethan of Rosedale, Virginia; several additional nieces, nephews, co-workers, church family and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Harrison and Rev. Tommy Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia. Funeral services will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Members of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church and Employees of C-Health of Honaker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Thursday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
Due to the recent surge of COVID cases in our area, the family requests that a mask be worn by everyone in attendance.
