Bernard Allen “T-Bo” Stevens, age 56, of the Bowen Gap section of Council, Virginia passed away Tuesday (January 19, 2021) at his home. Born January 16, 1965 in Grundy, Virginia, he was a son of the late Bernard Barnes and Dorothy Ball Stevens. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of Holy Ground Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy G. Owens and Lilly M. Silcox; two brothers, Harold E. Stevens and Troy A. Stevens and one nephew, Ralph Rasnake.
Survivors include three brothers, Danny D. Stevens of Abingdon, Virginia, Chris Stevens and wife, Debra of Council, Virginia and Roy A. Stevens of Cleveland, Virginia; four nieces, Sandy Stevens, Sophia Owens, Billie Ratliff and Amy Dales; three nephews, Joshua Stevens, Danny W. Stevens and Harold Stevens, Jr.; several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Rick Helton officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowen Gap Cemetery at Council, Virginia.
Due to COVID restrictions mandated by the governor, a mask is required. For those unable or uncomfortable attending, the funeral service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Stevens, Roger Barton, Jeffrey Stevens, Gary Ball, Stevie Johnson and Rekis Johnson.
Curtis Wilson and Tommy Testerman will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Monday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM.
