Betsy Ann Johnson, age 50, of the Fletcher Hollow section of Vansant, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (February 16, 2022) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born January 22, 1972 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James and Emma Gay Johnson. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended Council High School. She was a member of Fuller’s Chapel in Swords Creek, Virginia. She enjoyed caring for others, especially taking care of children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Johnson, step-daughter, Carmella Johnson, step-son, Tyler Johnson, and fiancé, Michael Ray.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Parks and husband, Ryan; three grandchildren, Jacob Parks, Kadin Parks, and Bryson Parks; step-children, Brandon Johnson of Honaker, Travis Johnson and Roger Johnson both of Castlewood; three brothers, David Johnson and fiancée, Andrea Ray, Roger Johnson and wife, Keisha, and Kevin Ratliff and fiancée, Shirley; canine companion, Trixie; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Tommy Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery near the home at Fletcher Hollow.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Johnson, Kevin Ratliff, Mark Johnson, Dallas Johnson, Roger Johnson, David Johnson, and Ryan Parks.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday.
