Betty Sue Fletcher, age 69, of the Old Grissom Creek Road section of Council, Virginia, passed away Friday (September 2, 2022) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born December 8, 1952 in Hurley, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Burke and Ida Victoria Boyd Fletcher. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Hurley High School. She enjoyed working word search puzzles, watching classic TV shows, and loved animals, especially cats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie Fletcher, Lowil Fletcher, and James Fletcher.
Survivors include four siblings, Jearl Fletcher of Dalton, Georgia, Christene Mack and husband, LeRoy of Bloomington, Indiana, Bethel Ann Shook of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Gary Fletcher and wife, Donna of Vansant; special sister-in-law, Kay Fletcher of Council; feline companion, Sid; several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Home Nursing Company, Lisa Lawson, RN, Steve Fletcher, RN, and Donna Breeding, CNA; 5th Floor and ICU Nursing Staff at Clinch Valley Medical Center; and special friend, Jennifer Ball.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Minister Bob Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday.
