Billy Gene Brown, age 39, of the Indian Creek section of Bee, Virginia, passed away Saturday (March 7, 2020). Born September 8, 1980 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of Ronnie Gene and Donna Faye Ratliff Brown of Drill, Virginia. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1998 graduate of Honaker High School. He was employed as a coal miner for over fifteen years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Hassie Ratliff and his paternal grandparents, Wade and Mable Brown and several aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Nicole Brown of the home; three children, Jacob Brown, Isaac Brown and Sarah Brown all of the home; one brother, Bobby Brown of Fletcher’s Ridge, Virginia and one sister, Rhonda Peck of Swords Creek, Virginia; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Dye, Rev. Dennis McGlothlin and Rev. Wendell Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery at Combs Ridge, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Cory Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Robbie Harris, Ricky Barton, Jerry Brown and Johnny Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsey Deel, Dave Street, Stephen Johnson, Colten Allison, Rexley Ray and Jason Thomas.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tuesday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM.
