Misty Dawn Hubbard, age 42, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (March 25, 2020) at her home. Born January 8, 1978 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of Thelma Sue Lester Compton and Roger and Linda Hubbard. A lifelong resident of Russell County, she was 1996 graduate of Honaker High School, had received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Colorado Christian University and was currently enrolled in Lindsey Wilson College for her Masters Degree. She was a devoted member of Word of Victory Church. She had formerly served her community with Lebanon Lifesaving Crew beginning in 1996 and New Garden Rescue Squad. She was a Special Education Aide at Honaker High School, but always said her best job was being a mother.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John Walter and Minnie Ellen Hubbard, and maternal grandmother, Hazel Lester.
In addition to her parents, survivors include one son, Brayden Isiah Hubbard; one sister, Tammy Lambert and husband, Todd; one brother, Scottie Hubbard and wife, Pam; step-brother, Jason Monk and wife, Kim; nieces, Nicole Baldwin, Haley Statzer and Jon, Alyssa Lambert, and Mckenzie Monk; nephews, Daniel Baldwin and Tina, Jud Baldwin and Tiffany, and Brandon Baldwin and Ashley; great-niece, Paisley Jade; great-nephews, Blake Baldwin, Payton Baldwin, and Peanut Baldwin; high school best friend and troublemaker, Melissa Barton; her ultimate BFF, Janice Barton; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends also survive.
In consideration of health and well-being of others, the funeral service will be a private family gathering with Pastors Rod and Sharon Wicker officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at a later date to accommodate her many friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Eric Hubbard, Michael Hubbard, Scottie Hubbard, Jeff Hale, Dwayne Barton, and Todd Lambert.
