Obituary for Brenda Sue McGlothlin (Stinson)

Mrs. Brenda Sue Stinson McGlothlin, age 66, of the Fletcher’s Ridge section of Vansant, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Thursday (May 25, 2023). Born February 9, 1957 in Elkton, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Jimmy and Reba Robinson Stinson. Brenda was of the Primitive Baptist faith and was united with the church in 2005. Brenda loved the Lord with all her heart and never once questioned His will. She loved her family and her church family and always had a smile on her face and a very kind heart. She was a loving wife and mother, and always thought of others above herself. She enjoyed logging and gardening, but most of spending time with her family and working at the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Stinson.
Survivors include her husband of twenty-nine years, Elder Barrett McGlothlin; three children, Michael Alexander, Brandon McGlothlin and wife, Kimberly, and Renada Deel and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Dillon, Tara Farmer and husband, Ethan, Maggie Keen and husband, Tylor, Paiton McGlothlin, and Braxton McGlothlin; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Emma, Oliver, and Weston; two brothers, Paul Stinson an Bobby Stinson; four sisters, Carolyn Stinson, Joyce Barnette, Diane Killen, and Connie Jackson; several niece and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Elder Jim O’Quinn, Elder Garnell Gilbert, Elder Jim Duty, and Elder William McClanahan officiating. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Cemetery on Stinson Ridge.
Pallbearers will be Robert Deel, Braxton McGlothlin, Dakota McGlothlin, Colton McGlothlin, Gary Jackson, Johnny Hackney, L.H. Edwards, and Michael McGlothlin.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Fletcher’s Ridge Primitive Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Monday after 6 PM, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Elder Bill Campbell, Elder Billy Campbell, and Elder Hoey Lester officiating.
