Obituary for Brenda Kay Vance (Taylor)

Brenda Kay Vance, age 65, of the Crossroads section of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Monday (March 30, 2020) in a Johnson City, Tennessee hospital. Born December 12, 1954 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Roy Abram and Eileen Maxfield Taylor. A lifelong resident of the area, she was one of the first female coal miner at Island Creek Coal Company, retired after twenty-eight years. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Archie, Phoenix, girl Doberman and her family, especially her granddaughter, Alexis and best friend, Lacey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Alfred J. Vance, and two brothers, Willie Taylor and Ralph Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen Marie Johnson and Sara Vance and fiancé, Alan Stevens; one granddaughter, Alexis Stevens; three sisters, Caroline Sharp, Delilah McFadden, and Melissa Ferrell; two brothers, Jerry Taylor and Greg Taylor; sister-in-law, Ruby Bond; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Due to the restrictions and recommendations by the Commonwealth of Virginia and CDC, Celebration of Life services will be conducted at a later date.
