Obituary for Carline "Carol" Austin (Lambert)

Mrs. Carline “Carol” Lambert Austin, age 86, of Old Grissom Creek Road section of Council, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (November 25, 2020) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born March 26, 1934 in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Pearl Howard Lambert. A lifelong resident of the area, she had formerly been employed as a seamstress at Lebanon apparel and loved to sew. A devoted Christian, she loved the Lord, going to church, and was a member of Austin Chapel Methodist. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and had loved and cared for others all of her life. She left behind a wonderful testimony and her greatest desire was for her family and friends to join her in Heaven.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Austin, one son, Ricky Austin, sons-in-law, Bobby Fletcher and Kenneth Miller, daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Austin, brothers, Jerry Lambert, Grover Lambert, Jr., and Raymond Lambert, and one sister, Arbutus Horton.
Survivors include five children, Roy Walden Austin of Florida, Kathleen Austin McGlothlin and husband, McKinley of Swords Creek, Donnie Leon Austin and wife, Pauline of Abingdon, Barbara Miller of Swords Creek, and Wanda Fletcher of Abingdon; eleven grandchildren, Scottie, Crystal, Brian, Allie, Pamela, Veronica, LaDonna, Kendall, Vanessa, Chris, and Travis; three sisters Virginia Compton, Louise Howell, and Loretta Myles; fifteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home with her grandson, Rev. Travis Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Austin Cemetery at Venia, Virginia.
Grandsons, Gregory Austin and Gary Austin will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Friday at Honaker Funeral Home, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
