Mr. Carter William Stump of Venus, Texas passed away Thursday (December 12, 2019) at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Texas following a six-month battle with cancer. Born December 23, 1953 in Honaker, Virginia he was a son of the late Henry and Eula Barton Stump. He had lived in Beckley, West Virginia for many years and was a member of Clifftop Missionary Church in Beckley, prior to moving to Venus, Texas one year ago.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Stump and Ralph Stump; one brother-in-law, Tivis Stiltner; two sisters-in-law, Jeanie Stump and Teresa Miller; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Ruth Greene.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Greene Stump of the home; one daughter, Gloria Stump Hylton and husband, Dallas of Beckley, West Virginia, one son, Christopher Stump and wife, Asa of Venus, Texas; three granddaughters, Halley, Jamie and Brittany; three grandsons, Kayden, Hayden and Colton; great-grandson, Wyatt; sisters, Bonnie Hess and husband, Bubby of Honaker, Virginia, Dora Fields and husband, Roger of the Hansonville section of Lebanon, Virginia, Judy Stiltner of Cleveland and Marie Price and husband, Richard of Big Pine, Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
