Mr. Chancy Lee Sutherland, age 42, of Marion, Virginia, passed away Monday (December 28, 2020) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born August 24, 1978 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of Judy Dean Lester Sutherland of Belfast and the late Gary Leon Sutherland. A lifelong resident of the southwest Virginia area, he was a graduate of Lebanon High School. He was currently employed by Utility Trailer in Atkins, Virginia. He enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles, and riding motorcycle, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one niece, Kristen Jade Sutherland.
In addition to his mother, survivors include one daughter, Santanna Sutherland of Belfast; two brothers, Terry Sutherland and wife, Teresa and Mark Sutherland and wife, Trish; both of Haysi; several aunts and uncles including, Kathy Jones, Loretta Willis, and Ralph and Polly Lester; special pappaw, Maynard Rasnake.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewey Sutherland Cemetery at Haysi.
Anthony “Bones” Lester, Jamie Sutherland and family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
