Connie Baker Johnson, age 69, of Navarre, Florida, formerly of Lebanon, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (May 5, 2021) at her home. Born November 10, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Moses Baker, Sr. and Violet May Fields Baker. She had lived most of her life in Lebanon, Virginia. She was a graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College’s Nursing Program, where she received her associate’s degree in nursing and had been employed as a registered nurse at Russell County Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Edgar Baker.
Survivors include seven children, Lloyd Edward Houchins and wife, Monica of Senath, Missouri, Duane Anthony Houchins and wife, Cherrie of West Plains, Missouri, Violet Phillips and husband, John of Dante, Virginia, Shaun Ryder and wife, Tiffany of Claypool Hill, Virginia, Jonathan Houchins and significant other, Tiara Sword of Lebanon, Virginia, Shannon Taylor and husband, Jack of Abingdon, Virginia and Truly Potter of Lebanon, Virginia; two brothers, Lloyd Moses Baker, Jr. and wife, Frances of Mt. Airy, North Carolina and Douglas Wayne Baker and wife, Lisa of Lebanon, Virginia; one sister, Frances Hale of Navarre, Florida; seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be private.
