Mr. Dale Adkin McGlothlin, age 62, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (July 7, 2022) at Johnson City Medical Center. Born January 12, 1960 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Chester Aaron and Myrtle Elizabeth Hess McGlothlin. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of Venia Chapel Church. He retired from Island Creek Coal Company after 25 years and was a member of the UMWA. Dale enjoyed Motocross Racing and competed in many races for over 10 years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fiancée, Patty Lockhart, and one nephew, Shane Presley.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheena Young and husband, Bruno of Hurricane, West Virginia, Chelsea Owens and husband, Ryan or Lebanon, Virginia; four grandchildren, Harper Young, Ryker Owens, Sophie Young, Ella Young; one brother, Eddie McGlothlin and wife, Reva of Rowe, Virginia; two sisters, Eva Stinson of Lebanon, Virginia and Thelma McGlothlin of Old Grissom Creek Road; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel in Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Dennis McGlothlin officiating. UMWA Honors will be Conducted by the United Mine Workers of America Sub 28 Chaplain Corp. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Cemetery on Stinson Ridge.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Owens, Bruno Young, Terry McGlothlin, Darin McGlothlin, Dennis McGlothlin, Jimmy Honaker, John Adams and Jaride Barton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Austin, Michael James, David Ray, Barrett McGlothlin and Kennie Ball.
The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 noon at the Honaker Funeral Home.
