Mr. Daniel “Danny” Clyde Watson, age 77, of Paintlick, Virginia, passed away Sunday (October 18, 2020) at his home. Born June 4, 1943 in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elmer and Winnie Grace Brown Watson. He had lived most of his life in the southwest Virginia area and was a former employee of P & J Contracting. He enjoyed woodworking and he had “knack” for always finding a way to make things work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Watson, one brother, Gene “Greek” Watson, one sister, Ruth Marshall, one sister-in-law, Dean Watson, one brother-in-law, Earl Marshall, and two nephews, Greg Watson, Herbie Marshall.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Sargent and husband, Dougie of Paintlick, and Rhonda Wade and husband ,Anthony of Rosedale; grandchildren, Mark Wade and wife, Alysse, Megan Lester and husband, J.L., Shawn Sargent and wife, Ariel, Austin Wade and wife, Maegen, Jason Wade and Lakin Keene, Sammi Sargent and Nick Waldruff, and Skyli Sargent; three brothers, Jack Watson, Arnold “Sparkie” Watson and wife, Daisy, Billy Watson and wife, Anita; one sister, Peggy Combs; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Watson; special mother-in-law, Mary Frances Taylor and the Taylor Clan; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Home Nursing Company of Lebanon, Virginia and Lisa Lawson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Billy Watson officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Brown Cemetery at Paintlick, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Harry Meade, Greg Meade, Jim Marshall, Chad Taylor, Chris Perkins, and Keith Meade.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM on Tuesday.
