Obituary for Daniel Carrol Mullins

Mr. Daniel C. Mullins, age 69, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Friday (March 25, 2022) in Kingsport, Tennessee hospital. Born April 20, 1952 in Haysi, Virginia, he was a son of the late Leonard and Sophia Burchett Mullins. A lifelong resident of the southwest Virginia area, he had formerly been employed as a coal miner and later worked alongside his brother, Jody, at Swords Creek Welding for many years. He was known for his love for others, loved being outdoors, gardening, and animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard “Jody” Mullins and Donnie Mullins, two sisters, Shirley Mullins and Starlette Davis, and sister-in-law, Linda Mullins.
Survivors include three children, Tiffany Mullins Bryant and husband, Eric of Rockwell, North Carolina, Rebecca Mullins of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and Daniel “Perkins” Mullins of Blountville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Brady Mullins, Pierceson Lynch, Nathaniel Mullins, Nikkolas Bryant, Erykah Bryant, Liam Fuentes, Annabella Mullins, and Scarlett Mullins; one brother, Rodney Mullins of Galion, Ohio; two sisters, Judy Osborne and husband, George of Mansfield, Ohio, and Cassie O’Quinn and husband, Hayes of Haysi, Virginia; sister-in-law, Carrie Mullins; special niece, Shirley Gordon and husband, Jeff of Marion; canine companion, Flash; several additional nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday at the J.S. Willis Chapel in Haysi, Virginia with Rev. Phillip Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the J.S. Willis Cemetery at Haysi, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at the J.S. Willis Chapel, Whitner Lane, Haysi, Virginia on Sunday after 3:00 PM.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
