Mrs. Darlis Faye Maxfield, age 78 of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (July 5, 2020) at her home. Born October 7, 1941 in Finney, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Carl and June Belcher Wilson. A lifelong resident of the Honaker area, she was a 1959 graduate of Honaker High School. She had formerly been employed by Russell Manufacturing for thirty-six years and the Farmer’s Table for over eleven years. She was a devoted member of Harmony Community Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Maxfield, and one brother, Claude Wilson.
Survivors include five children, William Carl Maxfield and wife, Sharlene, Delores Murphy and husband, Mark, Jeff Maxfield and wife, Melody, Teresa Hess, and Amanda Wilson; two brothers, Kenneth Wilson and Clyde Wilson; one sister, Patsy Sue Wilson; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank to the nurses and staff of Legacy Hospice for their kindness and care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Mike Dye, Rev. Cody Jackson, and Rev. Terry Whited officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
