Mr. Darrell Blankenship, age 69, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (August 2, 2022) in a Grundy, Virginia hospital. Born September 18, 1952 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Clifford Carlos and Iris Lee Coleman Blankenship. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and working puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Joetta Blankenship; one sister, Deborah Mendez; two brothers, Danny Blankenship and wife, Diane and Dwight Blankenship and wife, Rita; two children, Darrell Blankenship and wife, Tina and Lisa Harris and husband, Junior; step-daughter, Kimberly Mutter; two grandchildren, Justin Harris and Peyton Prater; six nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Leonard Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Hess Cemetery at Miller Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Josh Giambroni, Dale Blankenship, Robert Hale, Mack Prater, Junior Harris, and Jerry Street.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM.
