Obituary for David Allen Freeman

Mr. David Allen Freeman, age 58, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Saturday (July 16, 2022) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born May 5, 1964 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Glen Allen and Maxine Jane Plaster Freeman. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Christian faith. He had been employed as a truck driver with Gardner, Inc. for over twenty years always displaying a happy and positive attitude. He enjoyed knife collecting and antiquing, but most of all spending time with his friends and family. He was very witty and loved making others laugh. He never met a stranger and his greatest gift was the ability to make others smile.
Survivors include three sisters, Peggy Sue Freeman Grizzle of Elk Garden, Lisa Freeman Martin of Bristol, Virginia, and Rita Freeman Parrott and husband, Norman of Swords Creek his companion of many years, Mary Lou Harris and her children, David Keen, Susan Litton, and James Dale Keen; nieces and nephews, Monica Bush, Kayla Huff, Paul Martin, Dyzera Ratliff, Avin Parrott, and Layton Parrott; lifelong friend, Mike Dye; many, many friends, too many to mention, whom he loved dearly also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Dennis White officiating. Entombment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Rob Thompson, Bobby Stevens, Rocky McGlocklin, Joe Austin, Tim Smith, and Randy Blankenship.
Honorary pallbearer will be Eric Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the David Freeman Memorial Fund c/o Honaker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1620, Honaker, Virginia 24260.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday.
