Obituary for Deborah Cheryl Compton (Wilson)

Mrs. Deborah Cheryl Wilson Compton, age 55, of the Hurricane Creek section of Vansant, Virginia, passed away Monday (September 7, 2020) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born July 22, 1965 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of Letha Bostic Wilson of Council, and the late Delano Wilson. A lifelong resident of the area, she enjoyed tending to her pets and farm animals, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Bostic, paternal grandparents, Holland and Monnie Wilson, father-in-law, Joe Harper Compton, and brother-in-law, Darian Compton.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, Mickey Joe Compton of the home; one sister, Pam Compton of Council; mother-in-law, Loretha Compton; brother-in-law, Rick Compton and wife, Leshia; her nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own, Megan Deel and husband, Nathan, Layken Compton, Alex Compton, and Corrian Compton also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Dennis McGlothlin officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Randy Wilson, Kaleb Wilson, Rick Compton, Alex Compton, T.J. Compton, Bryant Compton, and Nathan Deel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jervie Rasnake, Roger Hale, Curtis Wilson, Carter Wilson, Vickie Combs, and Sharon Owens.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 Noon until 1 PM.
