Mr. Dentis “Denny” Harold McClanahan, age 56, of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Sunday (May 21, 2023) in a Pikeville, Kentucky hospital. Born April 25, 1967 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a graduate of Honaker High School. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Holiness faith. He had formerly been employed by Bristol Compressors and was currently working at Jen-Mar. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley.
Survivors include his mother, Lottie Moore and Jim; three siblings, Travis McClanahan and wife, Judy, Janice Miller and husband, Raynard, and Wanda Addair and husband, Ernie; very special brothers, Kenny Robinette and wife, Emily, Shannon Hubbard and wife, Michelle, Roy Wells and wife, Rhonda, and Jerry Hamrick and wife, Sharon; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Wayne Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Dustin McClanahan, Daylon Hubbard, Garland Miller, Tristen Romano, Glen Miller, and Tommy Wheeler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Wells, Kenny Robinette, Shannon Hubbard, and Eric McClanahan.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.
