Obituary for Donald Ray Ratliff

Mr. Donald Ray Ratliff, age 60, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Saturday (August 15, 2020) at his home. Born October 4, 1959 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late George Washington and Hassie Viola Whitt Ratliff. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a farmer and worked at odd jobs, mowing and weed eating. He enjoyed tending to his cats, and talking and visiting with friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Fuller and Debbie Thomas, two brothers, Kelly Ratliff and Tony Ratliff, and three nephews, Joe Fuller, Brian Thomas, and Billy Brown.
Survivors include four sisters, Donna Brown and husband, Ronnie, Nola Thomas, Dreama Ball and husband, Wesley, and Sherry Ratliff; one brother, Dwain Foster Bailey and wife, Stella; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care and Dialysis Center in Lebanon, Virginia for the loving care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Chester Ball and Rev. Eddie Street officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitt Cemetery at Drill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Jason Thomas, Jamie Thomas, Stevie Thomas, Jonathan Justice, Clay Reynolds, Robbie Harris, Willie Rose, Will Wallace, and the gravediggers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Brown and Cecil Blankenship.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 – 2 PM.
