Mrs. Doris Cook Musick, age 92, of the Romans Ridge Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (March 12, 2023) at her home. Born May 12, 1930 in Drill, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Clovis and Victoria Arms Cook. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Baptist faith. She was a determined, hard-working woman who was loved by all who met her. She would always say she would like to know how many people ate at her table over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carlos Musick, whom she married on May 18, 1956; one infant son; and five siblings, Ruth Lewis, Margaret Lester, Snook Clark, Bill Cook, and Pete Cook.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Raines and husband, Stephen of North Augusta, South Carolina; one son, Douglas Musick and wife, Dreama of Honaker; one sister, Arbutus Compton of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Ronald Musick and wife, Christi of Honaker, Kimberly Mullins and husband, Jeremy of Bristol, and David Raines of Carlinville, Illinois; seven great-grandchildren, Tanner Musick, Freya Mullins, Astrid Mullins, Keith Raines, Nicole Raines, Mason Raines, and Michael Raines; aunt, Eva Lou Owens of Rowe; special friend, Carolyn Stevens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Jeff Kinder and Rev. Stephen Musick officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel.
