Obituary for Draxie Alice "Jackie" Johnson (Dye)

Draxie Alice “Jackie” Johnson, age 82, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (March 8, 2022) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born March 19, 1939 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John Fred and Bertha Keen Dye. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended Perkins Chapel in Swords Creek, Virginia. She enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to gospel music, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Johnson, special companion of nineteen years, Reece Robinette, three step-children, Leslie Johnson, Benjamin Stuart Johnson, and Wilma Davis, grandchildren, Garland Jason Street and Patty Lynn Street, step-grandchildren, Larry Lester and Virginia Hope Wilson; two sons-in-law, Lonnie Blackwell and Garland “Bo” Street; and six sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include three children, Kathy Blackwell, Sandra Street, and T.C. Johnson and wife, Sarah all of Honaker; two step-children, Ella Johnson of North Carolina and Pauline Lester of Tennessee; twelve grandchildren, Anthony Blackwell, Heather Rowe, Floyd Street, Angie Street, Melissa Honaker, B.J. Street, Herman Street, Amanda Street, Lorena Harrison, Isaac Johnson, Levi Johnson, and Kait Johnson; great-grandchildren, Angel, Benjamin, Noah, Tyler, Amber, Katie, Travis, Aleshia, Makayla, Jonathan, Jaylon, Scarlett, Isabella, Jaxon, David, and Paisley; one sister, Darlene Dye of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Junior Ray and Rev. Steve Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Street, B.J. Street, Herman Street, Anthony Blackwell, Cody Williamson, and Tyler Perkins.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Thursday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
