Obituary for Earlene Strouth (Boyd)

Mrs. Earlene Strouth, age 94, of North Tazewell, Virginia, passed away Monday (February 1, 2021) at her home. Born July 28, 1926 in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Pheola Sherman and Jettie Rachel Perkins Boyd. She had spent most of her life in the southwest Virginia area and was of the Pentecostal faith. She had formerly been employed as a seamstress for Eastern Isles. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three spouses, George Perry Richardson, Dolphard Cook, and Hubert Strouth, one son, Bennie Richardson, three brothers, James Boyd, G. Paul Boyd, and Alexander Boyd, two sisters, Barbara Reynolds and Anita Boyd, and two step-sons, Wayne Strouth and Larry Cook. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include seven children, Larry Richardson, Harry Richardson, Connie Meade, Carol French, Patsy Richardson, Janie Richardson, and Banna Brown; step-children, Gary Cook, Jody Cook, Barry Cook, Patricia Adams, Linda Adams, Glenda McClain, and Ronald Strouth; twenty-four grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday.
