Obituary for Edith Mae Rose (Carty)

Edith Carty Rose, age 75, of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of Stinson Ridge, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday (November 10, 2022) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born March 9, 1947 in Tazewell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Virginia Rose Carty. She gave her life to the Lord and had been a Christian almost all her life. She worked as a personal care aide and enjoyed sewing and embroidery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Donald Rose; one son, Donald Travis Rose; grandson, Skyler Travis Rose; two sisters, Dora Ruth Rose and Mildred Virginia Mitchell and one brother, Franklin Carty.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda J. Rose and fiancé, Gary of Abingdon, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Teresa Rose of Grissom Creek, Virginia; step-grandchildren, Gary Allen Johnson and wife, Keisha of Rosedale, Virginia and Amy Johnson of Davenport, Virginia; sister, Lorene O’Quinn Short of Charlottesville, Virginia and brother, George Carty of Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Brenda would like to extend a very special thank you to her sister-in-law, Teresa for the wonderful care that she provided for her mother and her brother, Donald and all the love and kindness that she has showed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy Lester and Rev. Kyle Ratliff and Rev. Troy Harris officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12 Noon Monday in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum # 4 with Rev. Ronnie Rose officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Sunday.
