Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Rose Stacy Horton, age 55, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (March 11, 2020) at her home. Born June 4, 1964 in Grundy, Virginia, she was a daughter of Jeanette Michael Stacy of Hurley, Virginia and the late Clifford Stacy. She had spent her early life in Hurley, moving to Swords Creek thirty-three years ago. She was a 1982 graduate of Hurley High School and had received her Associate Degree from Southwest Virginia Community College. She had formerly been employed at several area convenience stores and enjoyed reading books and watching movies.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Butch Stacy.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of almost thirty-three years, Kenneth Lee Horton of the home; two children, Rachael Hart and husband, Brandon of Honaker and Jacob Horton of the home; one sister, Brenda Shockley of Delaware; one brother, Lee Shortt of Michigan.
A Celebration of Life with a reception and fellowship will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM Saturday March 14, 2020 at the Church Alive Multi-Purpose Building in Drill, Virginia.

I am so sorry to hear about sis’s passing. I haven’t seen her in years but she was a wonderful person. I am praying for her family,praying that God will give them peace and strength in this sad time. I love each and everyone of you. Sis is in heaven now no more pain or sorrow,how beautiful heaven must be.May God richly bless her beautiful family.

I went to college with Elizabeth and we talked a lot during that time. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was a special person.
