Our beloved mother, wife, sister and friend, Emily Ann Ball, 61, of Council, Virginia, passed away on November 26, 2022. Emily was born on May 25, 1961 to the late Dorothy and David Keen, Davenport, Virginia. Emily loved her horses, animals and gardening. She was a hard worker and was truly loved by everyone. She would light up a room and she always put others first. She had a heart as big as the racehorse “Secretariat”. She is truly an inspiration for everyone. Emily was a devout Christian and one of the Lord’s precious angels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Moses and Katherine Ball and one brother-in-law, Moses A. Ball, Jr.
Emily is survived by her husband, Mike A. Ball; daughter, Bridget C. Ball; sister, Debbie Compton and her husband, Tommy Compton; brother, Willie Keen and wife, Donna Keen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Johnny Griffith, Margaret and Gene Quarry and Patricia Ball; and a host of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Thursday (December 1, 2022) in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Tiller officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Rekis Johnson, Harold Johnson, Tim Cook, Marcus Davis, Tommy Compton and Shannon Keen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Keen, Randy Compton, Anthony Rose, Brady Harris, Blaine Sheckler, Jr., and Johnny Griffith.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Wednesday at Honaker Funeral Home, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude Gift Funds “Emily A. This fund will remain open to help support the fight against cancer in her spirit.
