Mrs. Emma Gay Ratliff Johnson, age 68, of Buchanan County, Virginia passed away Monday (December 27, 2021) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born September 12, 1953 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ashley P. and Tempie Keen Ratliff. A lifelong resident of the area, she loved attending different churches and visiting with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Johnson, infant son, Terry Johnson, granddaughter, Carmella Michelle Johnson, and grandson, Tyler Johnson.
Survivors include children, Betsy Johnson and companion, Mike Ray of Belfast, Roger Johnson and wife, Keisha of Fox Creek, David Johnson and companion, Andrea Ray of Council, and Kevin Ratliff and fiancée, Shirley; grandchildren, Lisa Parks, Allison Johnson, Travis Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Roger Johnson, Cindy Ratliff, Jasmine Ratliff, Richard Ratliff, Brian Ratliff, Kimberly Johnson, James Johnson, and Whitney Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jacob Parks, Kadin Parks, Bryson Parks, and William; three sisters, Bertha Ratliff of Cedar Bluff, Goldie Johnson of Little Fox, and Susie Johnson of Prater; one brother, Junior Ratliff and wife, Rita; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Carl Burmeier officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Johnson, Jessie Ratliff, Brady Duty, Mikey Bailey, Michael Dales, Rufus Dales, and Kevin Ratliff.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
