Obituary for Eula Gay Suits (Ratliff)

Mrs. Eula Gay Ratliff Suits, age 81, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (January 3, 2021) in a Johnson City, Tennessee hospital. Born December 2, 1939 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Jessie James Ratliff and Sally Mindy Short Ratliff. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson Suits, three brothers, Donald Ratliff, Deldon Ratliff, and Luther Ratliff, three sisters, Elsie Brown, Draper Farmer, and Betty Caudill, and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Christopher Suits and wife, Nina; special canine fur baby, Jasper; one brother, Willard Ratliff and wife, Janie of Honaker; two sisters, Mabel Stacy and husband, Artemis of Pounding Mill and Sue Hart of Honaker; special caregiver and friend, Katie Brown; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Chaplain Danny Rhea, Pastor Wayne Mullins, and Rev. Katie Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Brad Hart, Ryan Hart, Jeremy Ratliff, Austin Compton, Jared Compton, and Larry Ratliff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Ratliff and Jamie Ratliff.
Due to COVID restrictions mandated by the governor, a mask is required. For those unable or uncomfortable attending, the service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
