Obituary for G.C. Ronnie Fletcher

Mr. G.C. Ronnie Fletcher, age 76, of Vansant, Virginia, and formerly of Woodbridge, Virginia passed away Friday (April 30, 2021) and is at peace with the Lord. Born March 11, 1945 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Glen Chase and Ethel Stiltner Fletcher. While here on this Earth, Ronnie was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and enjoyed singing in the church choir. A 1963 graduate of Council High School, he was a very hard worker and had formerly been employed for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Safeway, Inc. where he retired after forty years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union during his tenure and had later worked as a realtor. Ronnie was always the first to volunteer to help anyone with any tasks no matter how great or small. He enjoyed being outside, working in his garden, and doing construction projects, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older sister, Joyce Breeding.
Survivors include his beloved high school sweetheart, whom he was married to for fifty-six years, Sheila Breeding Fletcher; their happy union blessed them with two children, Michelle Cashwell-Porch and her husband, Michael Porch and Aaron Chase Fletcher and his wife, Carla Ball Fletcher; he was a loving “Patoo” to his four grandchildren, Cameron Chase Cashwell, Shayla Ann Cessna, Cheyenne Chelle Cashwell, and Blake Hurley; and two great-grandchildren, Callie Marie Cessna and Cadence Celeste Collins; and his younger sister, Audrey Compton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Carl Burmeier officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
