Obituary for Hazel Virginia Dye

Mrs. Hazel Virginia Dye, age 81, of Rosedale, Virginia passed away Wednesday (February 12, 2020) in a Johnson City, Tennessee hospital. Born April 21, 1938 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the Evans and Florence Miller Hess. She had spent most of her life in the area and was a member of Copper Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Hassell Lee Hess, Alvin Hess, and Carl Henry Hess, and one sister, Maudie Bell Cox.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Roy Lee Dye of the home; one son, Bobby Dye and wife, Kathy of Rosedale; two daughters, Connie Sue Hess and fiancé, Michael Sullivan and Loretta Lynn Taylor and husband, Donald all of Rosedale; four grandchildren, Jason Hess and wife, Kelli, Misty Hale and husband, Charles, Sonya Smith and husband, Kenny, and Amanda Taylor; great-grandchildren, Baileigh, Carlie, Damian, Miley, Kamdyn, Ashlyn, Liam, and Kaziah; one sister, Elma Sue Yates and husband, Tivis; three brothers, Burke Hess and wife, Lou, Chester Hess and wife, Edith, and Thurman Hess and wife, Sue; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Rick Gibson and Rev. Duane Musick officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Charles Hale, Jason Hess, Donald Taylor, Kenny Smith, and Michael Sullivan.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday.
