Obituary for Jackie Dwain Dye

Mr. Jackie Dwain Dye, age 61, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Monday (December 14, 2020) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born December 17, 1958 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of Frank Dye of Honaker and the late Juanita Ray Dye. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Baptist faith and was a 1978 graduate of Honaker High School. A disabled coal miner, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball, but most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his father, survivors include his wife of forty years, Sandra Dye; two daughters, Amanda Wise and partner, Ben Barrett, Kendra Gobble and husband, Chris; two sisters, Joane Fields and husband, Trampis, and Freda Sweeney and husband, Rocky; brother, Cecil Dye; sister-in-law, Charlene Gobble; four grandchildren, Jacklyn Whited, Samantha Whited, Megan Gobble, and Parker Gobble; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roger Reynolds and Rev. Wayne Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in the Dye Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Victor Ward, June Deel, Dallas Dye, Jerry Hale, Clayton Hale, and Jeremy Monk.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trampis Fields, Ben Barrett, Chris Gobble, and Rocky Sweeney.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
Due to COVID restrictions, mandated by the governor, a mask is required for those in attendance and everyone is asked to maintain social distance. For those unable or uncomfortable attending, the service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
