Obituary for James Michael Hale

Mr. James Michael Hale, age 66, of Council, Virginia, took his heavenly flight on Friday (February 5, 2021) from Bristol Regional Medical Center where he had suffered several weeks of complications from an acute onset of illness. Born February 2, 1955 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Logan Hurley and Betty Compton Hale. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was employed as a respiratory therapist with AeroCare/Community Home Care.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jonathan Hale.
Survivors include his beloved wife and faithful companion of twenty-three and half years, Gloria Hale of the home; his children, Brandi Mahala Norman and her children, Alex, Adam, and Emma of Lumberton, North Carolina, Jeremy Michael Hale of Greer, South Carolina, Shawna Leanne Keen and children, Payton Grace and Bailey ā€œDā€ of Richlands, Jocelyn Megan Hale Musick and husband, Bryan and children, Hayley, Emily, Bryley of Cleveland, Virginia, and James Patrick Andrew Wade and wife, Ashley of Cedar Bluff, Virginia; brothers, John David Hale and wife, Linda of Council and their daughter, Amanda, her husband, Jarrad and their four beautiful children, and Lloyd Malcolm Hale of Council; baby sister always, Mary Beth Wingold and husband, Jay and their children, Josh and Evan Wingold; aunts and uncles, Irene Compton and Ilene Wolfe both of Council, Harold Hale of Ohio, and Herman Compton of Council; a host of cousins, friends, and family in Christ too great to mention.
Funeral services will be a private family gathering at 11 AM Monday with Mikey Ratliff and Seth Shortridge officiating. Interment will be at the Hale Cemetery in Council, Virginia.
Due to COVID restrictions mandated by the governor, a mask is required. For those unable or uncomfortable attending, the funeral service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
Pallbearers will be Tim Shortt, Seth Shortridge, Curtis Campbell, Mack Culbertson, Jimmy McGhee, and Buddy Stanley.
