Mr. Jerry Smith, age 46, of the Drill section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (May 7, 2023) at his home. Born July 26, 1976 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Kirby Allen “Johnny” and Loretta Ann Johnson Smith. A lifelong resident of the area, he was known for his witty sense of humour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Allen Smith, his maternal grandparents, Roy and Hazel Johnson and his paternal grandparents, Carson and Dixie Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Allen Smith and Cameron Blake Houston; one sister, Ruth Ann Ball and husband, David; two uncles, C.A. Smith and Roger Johnson; aunt, Sue Shortridge; nephews, Kody Smith and Austin Ball; niece, Tiffany Smith and fiancée, Justin Baldwin; great-nephews, Levi Allen Baldwin and Hudson Colt Baldwin; special friend, Judy “Sis” Honaker; sister-in-law, Mary Smith and companion, David Street; special cousins, Johnny Coxton, Missy Rogich, Donna Deskins, and Dolores Brown.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Wednesday in the Baldwin Cemetery at Drill, Virginia with Rev. Chester Ball officiating. Interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be John Sisk, Keith Osborne, Kody Smith, Shawn Vance, Chad Whited, Justin Baldwin, and Austin Ball.
Honorary pallbearers will be relatives and friends.
