Mrs. Jewel Miller, age 88, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Monday (August 1, 2022) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born February 18, 1934 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Madison Burke and Lelier Yates Miller. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of the Revival Center at Swords Creek. She enjoyed flower gardening and canning, but most of all spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Faye Lambert, and nine siblings, Evangeline Blecher, Erlene Price, Dallas Miller, Elloween Wilson, Kathleen Sands, Donald Miller, Kledith Miller, Balfred Miller, and Garland Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Delmer Miller; five children, Ruth Perkins and husband, Ralph, Darrell Miller and wife, Doris, Raynard Miller and wife, Janice, and Mike Miller and wife, Sandra all of Swords Creek, and Keith Miller and wife, Jennifer of Castlewood; grandchildren, Mark Perkins, Beth Jackson, Garland Miller, Jennifer Hess, Josh Miller, Shonda Miller, Devin Skeens, Timothy Lambert, Matthew Lambert, Samuel Lambert, Nathanael Lambert, Tyler Hale, Kelly Hartsook, and Gracie Overstreet; fifteen great-grandchildren, including special great-granddaughters, Hailey and Kendra; sister, Sue Nash; daughter-in-law, Anna Robinson; sister-in-law, Betty Miller; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. David Perkins, Rev. Wayne Perkins, and Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Mark Perkins, Garland Miller, Matthew Lambert, Timothy Lambert, Devin Skeens, Skylar Miller, Rick Miller, and Travis McClanahan.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Thursday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
