Mrs. Joyce Ann Hess Crawford, age 67, of Castlewood, Virginia, entered into her eternal rest on Tuesday (December 21, 2021) in a Kingsport, Tennessee hospital. Born September 3, 1954 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Elmer and Dorothy Hess. A devoted Christian, Joyce was a member of Ervins Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed singing his praises and sharing the Gospel with song. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Honaker High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Hess, one sister, Loretta Fuller and two brothers-in-law, Delmer Fuller and Billy Reynolds.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, Rev. Billy Crawford; three step-children, Danny Crawford and wife, Debby, Michael Crawford and wife, Becky, and Karen Hall and husband, Donald; grandchildren, Nashay Christian, Jeff Hall and wife, Katelyn, Billy Joe Crawford, Carrie Kirk and husband, Cory, Michael Crawford, Belle Crawford, and David Hall; her great-grandchildren, whom were her pride and joy, Liam Linnen, Isabella Hall, and Jamie Kirk; sister, Teresa Artrip and husband, Cecil many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Home Nursing Company of Lebanon, Dr. Adam Coe at Gastroenterology Associates of Kingsport, Holston Valley Ultrasound Department and Lab, Stone Mountain Health Services in St. Paul, RCMC Oncology Department, and Katelyn Hall for the exceptional Care they have provided over the last few years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Farley Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hess Cemetery in Swords Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Jessee, Andrew Jessee, and relatives.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Thursday at 12 PM- 1 PM.
