Juanita Lester Honaker, 83, took her Heavenly flight on November 2, 2022. Born March 29, 1939 in Doran, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Crockett and Lourendy Gross Lester. She had spent most of her life in the River Mountain section of Russell County and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John Robert Honaker; one son-in-law, George Crabtree; three sisters, May Murphy, Virgie Jackson and Sarah Rasnake; six brothers, Jim Gross, Claude Lester, Graham Lester, Glen Lester and Edd Lester. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include three children, Helen Crabtree, Betty (Terry) Hubbard, and John Earl (Melissa) Honaker; step-daughter, Brenda (Chuck) Price; nine grandchildren, Tim Crabtree, Angeleen Hess, Nathaniel Hubbard, Kristin (Lee Ann) Musick, John Louis Honaker, James Crabtree, Jacob Honaker, Ben Price and Tahara Hill; sixteen great-grandchildren, Timothy Crabtree, II, Anika Hess, Christopher Crabtree, Cecilee Hess, Johnathan Crabtree, Tyler Hubbard, Charlie Hubbard, Bradley Musick, Jaxon Crabtree, Jazmyne Musick, Rylan Musick, Willow Honaker, Maple Honaker, Gracie Hill, Brooks Price and Loralai Price
; special sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Ella Jane Honaker; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Aaron Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Saturday at Honaker Funeral Home, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
