Mrs. Katherine Michelle Johnson, age 42, of Pounding Mill, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (August 11, 2020) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born September 2, 1977 in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was a 1993 graduate of Pikeville high School. She lived in the Honaker area for eighteen years before moving to Pounding Mill. She was a member of Sullivan Branch Pentecostal Church. She was very artistic and enjoyed crafts and sewing.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Dean Casey, maternal grandparents, Charlie and Fern Saylor, paternal grandfather, Charlie Casey, and uncles, Clayton Casey, Bill Saylor, Charlie Saylor, and James Saylor.
Survivors include her husband of eighteen years, Aaron Johnson of the home; two children, Joshua Angelo and Nathan Casey; her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Randy Hackney of Haysi; brother, Kenny Casey and wife, Crystal Johnson Casey; half-brothers, Austin Casey and Thomas Aaron Casey; half-sister, Madison Casey; grandmother, Elvie Casey; special friend, Alice Faye; mother-in-law, Debbie Johnson; sisters-in-law, Tracy Johnson and Kayla Johnson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Jeff Tiller officiating. Interment will follow in the Casey Family Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 – 2 PM.
