Obituary for Leonard Carson Hale

Mr. Leonard Carson Hale, age 78, of the Drill section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (June 11, 2020) in a Lebanon, Virginia nursing facility. Born May 11, 1942 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Tolbert and Letha Lester Hale. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of Helton’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He had been employed as a carpenter, and enjoyed watching birds and wildlife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant children, three brothers, Willard Hale, Jerry Hale, and Arthur Hale, and one sister, Polly Neal.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Mae Hale of the home; one brother, Dallas Hale and wife, Dorothy of Mendota; two sisters, Mable Hensley and Phyllis Hale both of Elizabethton, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly, also survived.
In consideration of the health and well-being of others, funeral services will be private family gathering with Rev. Earl Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Helton Cemetery on the Stinson Ridge section of Rowe, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Lester, Randy Lester, Bobby Lester, Chris hale, Ralph McGlothlin, Jason Reynolds, Clay Reynolds, and Foster Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Helton and Greg Reynolds.
