Obituary for Leonard Glen "L.G./ Skeeter" Skeens

Mr. Leonard Glen “L.G.” “Skeeter” Skeens, age 65, of the Clifton Farm Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (December 19, 2021) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born June 13, 1956 in Virginia, he was a son of the late Leonard and Lola Marie Peck Skeens. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a disabled coal miner, having been employed by at Island Creek VP #1. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, archery, and hunting, but most of all spending time with his family, especially Brooke and his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Glen and Gracie Peck, who raised him.
Survivors include his three children, Jenada Jones and husband, Matthew of Acworth, Georgia, Cody Skeens and wife, Kayla, and Brooke Skeens all of Honaker; adored grandchildren, Blake Wilson, Devin Skeens, Tyler Skeens, Jacy Jones, Thomas Skeens, Jozy Jones, Jayden Jones, Aubrey Duty, Takotah Skeens, Bella Lowe, Tashawn Skeens, Peyton Duty, Kynzie Keen, and Tucker Skeens; four siblings, Teresa Morgan and husband, Ray of Cedar Bluff, Patti Carlin and husband, William of Woodford, Virginia, Gina Watson and husband, Kerry of Corryton, Tennessee, and Kim Hall and husband, Scott of Knoxville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Celebration of Life will be conducted at 6:00 PM Wednesday in the Star Ministries/Old Givens Elementary School Building, 8153 Swords Creek Road, Swords Creek, Virginia.
