Obituary for Lucille Hughes (Robinson)

Mrs. Lucille Robinson Hughes, age 97, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Saturday (May 2, 2020) at her home. Born March 12, 1923 in Dickenson County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James Harrison and Fanny Owens Robinson. She had spent most of her life in the Southwest Virginia area and attended Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and working puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hughes, five brothers, Reen, Corb, Millard, Llowel, and Cecil Robinson, three sisters, Alta Standford, Julie Robinson, and Jane Person, grandchildren, Sean Hughes, Bill Unrine, Jr., and Susan Unrine, and son-in-law, William Unrine. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include three children, Robert Hughes, Donald Hughes and wife, Ivadene, and Leaetta Unrine; five grandchildren, Shannon Hughes, Donita Street and husband, Gary, Amanda Dye and husband, T.J., Tim Unrine, and Ken Unrine; five great-grandchildren, Patrick Hughes, Canaan Street, Samuel Street, Carson Dye, and Chris Unrine; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In consideration of health and well-being of others and in respect of the guidelines of the CDC and the Commonwealth of Virginia services will be a private family gathering with Rev. Vonley Pruitt and Rev. Steve Damron officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
