Obituary for Lucy Roberta Fields (Perkins)

Lucy Roberta Fields, age 83 of the Green Acres section of Honaker, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday (April 30, 2022) at her home. Born January 16, 1939 in Lynn Springs, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Baxter Jay and Hazel Dye Perkins. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1956 graduate of Honaker High School. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Honaker. She had been employed by Russell County Public Schools for thirty-six years, having served as both librarian and teacher’s aide. She was a very loving lady and always enjoyed cooking, quilting, decorating and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Marvin Fields, one infant daughter, Nicole Leigh Fields and four brothers, Leslie Perkins, Ferrell Perkins, Alva Perkins and Roger Perkins.
Survivors include two sons, Darrell Fields and wife, Robin and Danny Marvin Fields and wife, Michelle all of Honaker, Virginia; four grandchildren, Allyson Fleming and husband, George of Lebanon, Virginia, Kevin Fields and wife, Raysha of Belfast, Virginia, Kelli Whitt and husband, Brian of Abingdon, Virginia and Michael Ketron of St. Paul, Virginia; one sister, Narcie Dye of Honaker, Virginia; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Natalie Justice and Rev. Wayne Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be George Fleming, Brian Whitt, Kevin Fields, Tim Hale, Dougie Perkins, Jason Fields, David Dye, Randy Dye and Robbie Boone.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tuesday at the Honaker Funeral Home where a song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
