Obituary for Margie Kathern Honaker (Yates)

Margie Kathern Yates Honaker, age 80, of Honaker, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday (December 15, 2019) at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee. Born March 8, 1939 in Honaker, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Daisy Price Yates. She had spent most of her life in the area and had been employed as a seamstress at Honaker Mills for many years and as a CNA and cook at Altamont Manor in Lebanon, Virginia. She loved her family more than anything and was a mother to all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Henry Honaker; one daughter, Patricia Anderson; two sons, Billy Honaker, Jr. and Marcus Anderson; two granddaughters, Santana Wilson and Adaleigh Grace; seven brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her children, Sharon Saunders and Lee, Jean Whitt and Robin Smith and Eugene Maxwell, Carl Anderson and Lauren, Richard Anderson and Diane Honaker; step-son, Mike Honaker and Terri; siblings, Alice Kestner, Charlene Deel and Clarence Yates and wife, Earlene; fifteen grandchildren, Darrell Wilson, Chris Wilson, David Honaker and Billie Jo, Heather Hamilton and Derrick, Kim Whitt, Randi Honaker, Blake Wilson and Kayla, Alyssa Anderson, Hannah Smith and John, Felicity Anderson and Daylon, Sarah Smith, Logan Anderson, Justin Ball, Jenna Hamilton and Emma-Lee Anderson; sister-in-law, Sally Massie and James; special relatives, Donna, Linda, Cathy, Rita, Joyce and Joanie; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her special dog companion, Baby also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denver Barton and Rev. D.J. Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Gearld Ball, Ben Ball, Blake Wilson, Junior Yates, Dakota Yates, John Fisher, Daylon Smith and Logan Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Yates and Justin Ball.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tuesday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
