Melissa Annette Ratliff Rose, age 55, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (April 27, 2022) in Sevierville, Tennessee. Born April 27, 1967 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of Arbutus Harris Ratliff of Honaker and the late Luther Ratliff. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1985 graduate of Honaker High School. Having a talent for music, she loved singing and playing the guitar, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Rose, and one brother, Tony Ratliff.
In addition to her mother, survivors include one son, Brandon Rose and wife, Melissa of Defuniak Springs, Florida; two granddaughters, Elise Rose and Emmalyn Rose; her fiancé, Darryl Johnson; one brother, Jeffery Ratliff of Honaker; one sister, Saundra Willis and husband, Jimmy of Defuniak Springs, Florida; nieces, Jacklynn Ratliff and Kadren Bach; nephew, Luke Ratliff; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Monte Elswick and Rev. Matthew Dale officiating. Interment will follow in the Tunnel Hill Cemetery at Honaker, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11 – 12 Noon Sunday at the Honaker Funeral Home.
