Norma Lou Compton, age 66, went home peacefully on Monday (January 25, 2021) in Abingdon, Virginia. Born March 6, 1954 in Vansant, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Dollie Breeding Compton. Norma touched the lives of everyone she met; our beloved shining, happy girl. She was the light of our lives and the heart of our family. She was love personified.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harmon Compton, Harper Compton, and Terry Compton, and one niece, Debbie Wilson Compton.
Survivors include two brothers, Garmen Compton and Beverly of Little River, Texas and Ronald “Buck” Compton and Sandra of Lebanon; one sister, Rita Williams and Bob of Grundy; sisters-in-law, Loretha Rice Compton of Davenport, Linda Deel Compton of Cumming, Georgia, and Carleen Barton Compton of Davenport; nephews and nieces, Rick Compton and Leshia of Bealeton, Virginia, Mick Compton, Davenport, Jason Compton and Sheila of Bumpass, Virginia, Dee Lowery of Cumming, Georgia, Missy Jarvis and Kevin of Cowpens, South Carolina, Chelsea Sartin and Derek of Mendota, Virginia; T.J. Compton and Jessica of Davenport, and Elizabeth Brooke Compton of Bristol, Virginia; Norma also loved her fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff, residents, and all the caregivers at Accordius Health Care of Abingdon, Virginia. Norma was truly loved by everyone there and she loved each resident and caregiver at the facility. Norma’s family is grateful and thankful to all those providers.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no formal service. A private burial will be held at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
