Obituary for Pearl Vandyke (Street)

Mrs. Pearl S. Vandyke, age 77, of Tazewell, Virginia, passed away Friday (October 21, 2022) at New River Valley Medical Center. Born May 26, 1945 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Ollie Mae Lester Street. A lifelong resident of the southwest Virginia area, she was a member of North Tazewell Church of God Prophecy. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading her Bible, and cooking, being known for her delicious chicken and dumplings. A social butterfly, she enjoyed visiting others and having visitors, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Vandyke, one daughter, Janet Vandyke, two sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Vandyke of Richlands; one son, Donald Reedy and wife, Linda of Richlands; grandchildren, Kristi Stump and husband, Joel, of Collinsville, Virginia, Vanessa Price and husband, Charlie of Tazewell, Jessica Conner and husband, Jerry of Wardell, and Neil Reedy and wife, Tina of Chilhowie; grandson at heart, Chris Kiser and his wife, Mandy; great-grandchildren, Chris, Dustin and fiancée, Sarah, Cody and fiancée, Hali, Emily and fiancé, Chanc, Christian, Chloe, Chelsea, Chase Kiser, Raegan, Lincoln, Chase Reedy, Braxton, Blake, Will, and Andrew; great-great-grandchildren, Kylee, Mali, Laydon, Weston, and expected soon, Axton; one brother, Marvin Street and wife, Betty of Jewell Ridge; a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends that have become family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Lisa Haywood and Rev. Dennis McLemore officiating. Interment will follow in the Essau-Rife Cemetery on Keen Mountain, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Joel Stump, Chris Kiser, Cody Price, Christian Kier, Vanessa Price, and Neil Reedy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Price, Randy Ball, Travis Elkins, Gerry Jonas, and Sister Randy Haywood.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday.
